The many reasons to include Chia Seeds in your daily diet

Chia seeds are packed with loads of nutrition and should be included in your every day diet.  Omega 3 is required by every cell in your body, and is essential for healthy brain and nervous system function and Chia seeds are packed full of it. In fact, they have 8 times more Omega 3 than salmon. The type of Omega 3 in Chia Seeds does need to converted, once eaten, by the body. But it is still a good source of Omega 3.

They are also high in fibre – 37%, which is great for a healthy digestive system. They are also high in protein, the building blocks of any living organism, containing 20%. They are high in antioxidants, essential for fighting those free radicals throughout our body and high in calcium for healthy bones and teeth. In fact, they have 5 times more calcium than milk and it is easier to absorb.

But it doesn’t stop there! They also have twice the potassium than bananas and three times the iron than spinach (I bet Popeye didn’t know that!).

Sprinkle on cereal or porridge or add to smoothies. You can also add it to cake and muffin recipes or you can make my Chia Seed biscuits.
